Answers:

What is ReUseIt?
ReUseIt is an innovative rewards based program aimed at eliminating usage of disposable bag consumption in the U.S. retail industry. By creating a Rewards Program that provides incentive for consumers to utilize reusable bags, ReUseIt is helping consumers

How do I register for ReUseIt?
You can register at participating retail locations or through our website, www.reuseitbags.net.

I have too many loyalty and membership cards as is, do I really have to have another one?
We understand the hassle of having overflowing wallets full of different cards and therefore have provided our participants ways to link their ReUseIt account to other loyalty programs that they might already participate in. If one of our participating retailers has an existing loyalty club program that you are already a member of, make sure to provide your loyalty card number when you activate your ReUseIt account. If you have provided your loyalty card number to us, you will be able to shop and receive credit for using reusable bags just by scanning your loyalty card (no ReUseIt card required). By linking your existing loyalty club number to your new ReUseIt account we will be able to track your Reward Points through your loyalty club card. If you shop at a participating retailer that does not have an existing loyalty club program, you will be required to carry a ReUseIt card with you when you shop in order to earn Reward Points for using reusable bags.

How do I earn Reward Points?
Once you have registered and activated a ReUseIt account, simply use your reusable bags when shopping at participating retailers. Be sure to scan your new ReUseIt card (or your existing loyalty club card if you have linked it to your ReUseIt account), and your total bill will be converted into Reward Points at a conversion ratio of $1 to 1 Reward Point.

How does ReUseIt keep track of my Reward Points?
Everyone who registers with ReUseIt is given a unique membership number. This membership number is linked to a barcode on a ReUseIt keychain card that is provided to the participant or is linked to the participants existing loyalty club membership number. When the participant uses reusable bags at a participating retailer, the cashier will enter a code to tag that transaction as a reusable bag transaction. The transaction will also be tagged with the participants barcode number from their ReUseIt card or with their loyalty club number, enabling ReUseIt to reflect Reward Points in the appropriate accounts. Retailers will provide ReUseIt with transaction data on a daily basis that ReUseIt will use to update participant accounts.

Do I have to use a particular type of reusable bag to earn Reward Points?
No. The purpose of our program is to get people to reduce consumption of disposable bags, so whatever reusable bag you choose is up to you. In order to have the most profound impact on the earth and our environment, we recommend using an existing bag that might be sitting around your house before going out and buying a new reusable bag.

Can I earn bonus Reward Points?
Yes. Part of the focus of the ReUseIt program is to encourage participants to use their reusable bags as often as possible in order to maximize the positive environmental benefits. Therefore, we have designed the Rewards Program to reward participants that consistently use their reusable bags. If you use reusable bags in consecutive weeks at the same retailer, you will receive a 50% bonus on Reward Points for the second trip (i.e. if you spend $100, you will receive 150 Reward Points if reusable bags were also used the prior week at the same retailer). We will also work with our Retail and Rewards Partners to periodically offer ways for participants to maximize the value of the rewards program through offering ways to earn more Reward Points. Stay tuned for more detail on these offerings and as always, feel free to contact us if you have suggestions on ways we can improve the program (click here).

Are there limits on how many Reward Points I can earn?
No. The only limits on the amount of Rewards Points you can earn are how much you spend at participating retailers and how frequently you use reusable bags (i.e. do you get the 50% bonus Reward Points by using your reusable bags consistently). Note that our intention is not to get you to consume more or shop more, but to motivate you to use a different bag when you do shop for things like groceries. At the end of the day, we all need to start consuming less.

Where can I earn Reward Points?
Our hope is that one day you will be able to earn Reward Points in virtually every retail store in the U.S. So if one of your favorite retailers is not participating in the ReUseIt program, let them know you would appreciate it if they did. For a list of current retailers that are participating in the program, click here.

How do I use my Reward Points to redeem Rewards?
If you have activated an online account through ReUseIt’s website, then log into your account using your email address and password and you can shop online for rewards. Once logged into your account, you will be able to check your account balance and shop for available rewards. Most rewards will be available to print from our website, however certain rewards may need to be mailed depending on the desires of our Rewards Partners. In order to limit negative impacts on the environment and to keep costs down, each account will be limited to one free mail delivery of a reward per year. Each subsequent mail delivery will cost $0.50 and will be billed prior to mailing. We will commit to mailing rewards within three days of the order, but can make no guarantees on how quickly they will be delivered.

How many businesses are participating in the Rewards Program
Click here to see a list of current Rewards Partners. Note that some Rewards Partners might limit their rewards to specific geographic regions and therefore you might not see all of these Rewards Partners when you log into your account and start to browse for available rewards.

Will the list of Reward Partners and the Rewards they offer change?
Yes. ReUseIt will be continually working with Rewards Partners to ensure that we are maximizing value for participants in the program, but there will be changes. If you have suggestions of how we could improve the Rewards Program please click here.

Will my Reward Points expire?
If your account is inactive for 12 months, ReUseIt will have the right to take away any remaining Reward Points. An account will be determined inactive if there are no transactions adding additional Reward Points to the account or if no reward redemptions have occurred. In addition, certain rewards will have expiration dates on them, so be sure to read all of the details about each reward. If a reward expires, ReUseIt has no obligation to refund the Reward Points used to redeem that reward.

Who determines how many Reward Points are required for each Reward?
We allow the Reward Partner to structure their rewards. ReUseIt will provide guidance and assistance in structuring a reward, but it is ultimately up to the Reward Partner on how many Reward Points they want to require for a particular reward. Reward Partners can also determine in what geographical markets they want offer rewards, how many rewards they want to offer in total and if they want to have a limit per household.
